Nelson CemeteryOur last investigation was at an old Prision Graveyard in Nelson, New Zealand. 7pm 25/04/2008. Ambient temp 10c or less. Lots of Exciting! pictures taken we will pubilish an article later today with a few and explain about the investigation. It was probably one of our shortest to date, only 1 hour but in that hour we had two Sony Handycam 120min batteries die in around 8mins each so were without nightvision after 20mins approx. Huge battery drain... We experienced warm places and cold places, cold enough to see your breath, and yet you walk 5 steps forward and it doesnt feel as cold. Well will get you the report as soon as possible. Tim is looking through the parabolic mic recordings and i will be checking out the evp recordings to see if we got anything audio as we had lots on photos the best weve had and yet in such a short space of time, just mind blowing. Well Tim managed to get through the parabolic mic recordings but there was nothing on that and sadly nothing on the digital audio recorder. If you check out the photo gallery you will see photos from the evening and im sure you will agree that some of the photos were certainly odd! Our nightvision camera batteries died so we only had around 16min of video. I think that the location definately needs to be investigated again sometime in the future for longer just preferably in the summer months when its not so cold. I was dressed that night in several layers of clothing but still felt cold, it was the next day i found i had come down with Viral Meningitis so i was out of action for around 2 weeks. We took with us the following gear: 2 x Digital cameras 1 x Nightvision camera 2 x head-torches 1 x emf detector 1 x digital audio recorder 1 x mp3 recorder 1 x parabolic mic 3 x mini dvr nightvision camera recorders 1 x virtual glasses (for seeing in the dark via the camera) 1 x thermus flask of tea. As this was only a short investigation as my health had gone down hill that day we tried to take as many pictures as possible and after spending some quiet time around the graves and places which felt strange we started to walk around slowly taking pictures of almost everything in many angles to try to make sure we got most of the lower areas of the old prison graveyard. On of the spots we stopped in was considerably cooler than the other areas around it so much so that you could suddenly see your breath but if you walked a few steps left or right it felt much warmer, it was here that we took most of the photos from and which gave us most of the good images so thats certainly an area we will look into in the future to see what was under that part in the old records. Battery drain is quite a commen thing to happen and most paranormal investigators theorise that something is draining the electrical energy to try to do something whether it be make a noise, move something or appear. The same is also said for cold spots as it is supposed to be something drawing heat energy from the air to do the same as if it were battery electrical energy. We definitely have not had batteries drain so fast like that before. In summary it was an interesting place with some interesting spots around but sadley with my health getting worse we had to leave but thankfully we came away with some nice pictures deffinately a place we will have to check out again hopefully next time with full health and lots of batteries just in case...
